With a record 28 straight quality starts at home, the St. Louis Cardinals hoped to ride Adam Wainwright to a victory against the Cincinnati Reds. Wainwright struggled early (as did the Cardinals defense) as the Reds jumped out to an early 3-0 lead.
There were just six games on tap in MLB on Thursday (only two in the National League), one of which being a makeup game. The makeup game pitted the Philadelphia Phillies at Coors Field against the wild card chasing Colorado Rockies.
The St. Louis Cardinals continue their road woes as they lost their series in Washington. The Nationals beat Cardinals ace 1b Adam Wainwright 4-2 on Sunday.
