There were just four games on the MLB slate for Monday. The Chicago White Sox, who were battered on Sunday against the Florida Marlins, jumped all over Cleveland Indians starter Justin Masterson for four runs in the first inning.
The big matchup of these two-game series throughout baseball was the Tampa Bay Rays visiting the NY Yankees.
It was a rainy night in Baltimore as the two worst teams in the American League faced off. Kyle Davies for the KC Royals (who struggles on the road) matched up against the O’s Brad Bergesen (who was 9-2 at Camden Yards so far in his career).
In Tampa, the Rays won the series against the Toronto Blue Jays as they took the final game 6-0. Rays left-handed starter David Price was stellar as he pitched a complete game shutout.
